This installation was an exploration of absurdity inspired by the nonsensical strategy of misdirection. The wall writing was a composition of academic jargon spliced together and fused with poetry and extemporaneous thought. Echoing this free associative writing were several pieces made in some cases form disparate materials. In this show I was pursuing how language can be manipulated like material and how material can be assembled like language. The sculptures composed of seemingly unrelated material and various construction techniques were my way of tapping into the contradictions, nonsense and musicality inherent in the collage of academic language.
